Wavertree Cricket Club

2016  saw the launch of cricket specifically for Blind and Visually Impaired players at Wavertree Cricket Club. Training takes place on Friday evenings between 6 and 8 weather permitting. The cost  of the sessions is £2 per session. All are welcome whether  experienced cricketers or new to the game.

Our first season has been wonderful, the rhythm of regular practices, integrating into the social life of the club, taking a seat on committee.   One of the highlights for us as a section was (and beating) playing a game of VI cricket against the clubs first XI.   Club Chairman Phill O'Brien said 'I was proud to be involved in such an inclusive event, Wavertree is a community  where cricket  is played and this evening was a prime example of all that  is good about our community.'
The future will hopefully see a schedule of up to 8 VI fixtures played in 2017 at Wavertree.

We encourage you to share the news of our venture with all who you know who are blind or visually  impaired.   Everyone will be given a warm welcome.   News of winter  sessions will be available soon.
